Yep, Ole streets gonna host up a tournament in EVO2.

But it just not any tournament. It will be using custom trucks. Now, this is not a free for all tourney, no billion hp trucks here, read on you probably never realized this was possible.

I have personally tweaked a base custom truck that everyone will use, its not super powered but it is rather quick, much faster than class 3, but it handles like a dream, well, in my opinion anyway. :)

All the trucks performance and handling features will be exactly identacle but they will all have different art on the trucks.

These customs are cheat protection enabled. (yes you read that right).

You actually will select these customs under class 3. The reason for this is due to the fact that the game will not allow metal.ini edits to the trucks as if it was a career. As well, when all participants have the same trucks, the cheat protection is exactly the same as the game trucks, the host will recieve cheat messages for hacked trucks and whats the most amazing, is the "custom class" online can be disabled.

Cool huh?

Anyway, the date is yet to be determined, but it won't be too far in the future but what I am giving FTR is a chance to have your own truck paint in this tournament.

The base truck is the GMC sierra Race truck, all you really need to do is find some artist on your team to repaint the sierra game truck and send me the art. All I need is the 512 x 512 and 256 x 256 .tif files painted and ready to go in the proper format.

The .tif file must be in the indexed format, so someone will most likely need to use photoshop. non indexed formats will not work.
Quality is necessary and I would like the paint to not resemble the stock sierra, don't worry, I'm not going to be too hard nosed about it.

Please feel free to ask any questions and spread the word, if I get a good responce this will be one of many with all kinds of different trucks planned for the future, and possibly a chamionship points series.

Submit Art to this addy phazelwood@kscable.com private inquiries are welcom as well.

great idea street, i for one will start painting a truck right away, and maybe the rest of the team can vote as to which ones they prefer,(assuming others want to try painting as well).

Deadline for art is May 8th, I'm hoping for 8 total repaints, got 4 so far.

we could have used a bit more notice about painting the trucks street, i have one almost finished, as do 1 or 2 others, but to learn how to make trucks for evo2, learn how the textures work, and make the truck look good, takes a bit more time than just clone painting or inverting as it seems some of the trucks that are finished have been. i cant expect you to delay the tourny just for us, but when u were expecting maybe an entry from most of the teams, KKR, CZM, FTR, and the only ones that have entered one, is DTR, (how easy is it to just click the invert button?), and of course NKA, maybe a month or so would have been a better time frame. like from the time you originally thought of doing this, and was asking questions about truck making on vales, so we all had the time to prepare for this.

"hey jack, where did the ladder go?"

Sorry guys, no one said anything about not having enough time after I posted the deadline.

thats cool, the time just seemed to slip away, i didnt realise just wh`t was involved in getting the textures to work properly in evo2, so the first truck i painted, which took most of the time we had, didnt work, maybe now that one pod is out, a second pod, for the teams could be released prior to the tourny, that way, we can still run, still get used to the trucks, and have our own trucks for the tourny? i spoke to a few guys who didnt even know they could submit their own designs.
